Great day at the doctors office!

Today was Jackson's first pediatrician appointment in California. I just picked one out of the phone book and it was definately a very lucky choice. The office is beautiful- appears brand new and is right outside the CHOMP Hospital- I find this very funny that the hospital is called CHOMP- Community Hospital of Monterey Pennisula. There are 6 pediatricians there.
Dr. Jill was very nice and even gave Mommy advice to check out a local class for Mommies and Babies, which I will be registering for on Monday! Jackson was 18 lbs 6 oz- up from 1 month ago- 17 lbs 0.3 oz, and was 28 1/2 inches long!
He is doing well! We will return for his one year check-up on 1/14/09.

Thanksgiving photo shoot gone wrong!

Here, Lilly, you wear it, I don't want to.

Hey, who turned out the lights?

MMM Turkey is good!

This is not funny, mom, I want to speak to my lawyers!

Pictures from our day at the Park- a short walk from our house

Loves to slide and then eat the sand...

HOT weather!

Over this past weekend, the weather was in the 80s! It was gorgeous, but apparently rare for it to be so hot here. The avg temp is 50-60s all year (it is cold in July, I'm told).

Anyway, Matt and I took Jackson to meet Matt's boss and work friends at the Wharf this weekend. There, we met a guy called Crazy George (Matt knows him from school I think). On the weekends, he brings these rare exotic birds to the wharf and forces scared children to get pictures taken with him. Jackson was one of those poor kids this weekend. He came up to Jackson and put a bird on his arm and told me to take a picture. Jackson freaked out and screamed! I did not get a picture, b/c the camera was missing and our cell phone did not save the video, but trust me, it was sad!

We also went to this outdoor mall- like the Springfield mall with Macy's, Ann Taylor Loft, Border's Express, but it is outdoors- really neat.

The weather has cooled off some and is now back in the 60s again, but I hear that it is better that Philly!

My family has had the nerve to go to Walt Disney World without me- my parents and sister's family are there now- they are having a blast, but I am jealous and planning Jack's first trip to Disneyland!

PHEW that was long, hopefully the computer doesn't eat it...

Frustrated by internet!

Because we live on government property, our internet is serviced through a satellite type mechanism, which is never working, SO therefore the internet decides when to work. I spend all of this time uploading pictures of Jackson only to have it not work!! SO, if I am little slow in updating, please forgive me!

And, his new favorite pasttime- getting fingerprints on the glass!

Jackson checking out the bay at Cannery Row

Halloween

Halloween was the day that our stuff arrived in California, so Jackson only wore his costume for a few minutes before bed. Thank goodness Mommy remembered to take a picture in his costume back when we first got it. We only had 2 trick or treaters and we did not go out, but he enjoyed his first night in his good old crib that night and he didn't know the difference!

We're here!!

Okay, we have finally arrived in California!
Well, we have been here for almost 2 weeks, but are just getting settled and have finally gotten online!
Jackson has done remarkably well with the transition, especially considering the time change (3 hours) and then daylight savings. He was also good boy for both flights- Thank GOD for Grandmom is what I have to say. She kept Mommy sane!

Daddy picked us up at the airport and despite a 6 week seperation, Jackson wasn't shy at all. They are right back where they were when he left in early September, which was a big relief to Mommy!

Lilly and Layla were surprised to find out that Jackson is mobile now, but they are also handling it well. They love their new bigger backyard!

The house is nice and has been given a good cleaning and some tender loving care by Grandma, making it start to feel like home.

We have had so many adventures already- Jackson has now seen both the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans in his almost 10 months of life. We went to Santa Cruz, inspired by Daddy's favorite movie- the Lost Boys. We found new shopping places: Target, Kohls, and Walmart- what more do you need? We have been enjoying the weather in the low to mid 60s and it is supposed to get warmer this weekend. Grammy and Jackson and I went to Cannery Row and the wharf, which we need to return to soon. 3 words: Ghiradelli's Ice Cream....YUM!

Daddy is now a government employee, so he has off tomorrow for Veteran's day. We are also in the middle of trying to plan a Christmas trip home.

That's a lot of info and no pics- sorry need to find the cord for the camera, but I thought that I would just let everyone know what is going on here. I will be more faithful about updating in a couple days, when I get more organized. Pics to come! Thanks for looking!
